Frequently Asked Questions
Is CT scan radiation harmful?
CT scans use a small amount of radiation. The dose is carefully calibrated to the minimum needed for diagnosis. The benefit of an accurate diagnosis far outweighs the very small radiation risk.
How should I prepare for an MRI?
Remove all metal objects. Inform staff about any metal implants, pacemakers, or claustrophobia. Contrast MRI may require fasting for 4 hours. No other special preparation is usually needed.
How long does a CT or MRI take?
A CT scan takes 10–30 minutes. An MRI typically takes 30–60 minutes depending on the body part. Reports are usually ready within a few hours.
