Liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) is among the most common cancers worldwide and one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality. However, recent advances in diagnosis and treatment are offering new hope to patients.
Early Detection: Improved imaging technologies, including high-resolution ultrasound and MRI, now allow detection of liver tumours at earlier, more treatable stages.
Minimally Invasive Treatments: Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation allow targeted destruction of tumours without major surgery. Trans-arterial chemoembolisation (TACE) blocks blood supply to tumours and delivers chemotherapy directly.
Targeted Therapy & Immunotherapy: Drugs like sorafenib, lenvatinib, and newer immunotherapy agents are extending survival for patients with advanced liver cancer.
If you or a family member has been diagnosed with liver cancer, our multidisciplinary team at Unity Gastro & Liver Hospital is here to provide comprehensive, compassionate care.
